Jake and Kim Featured on The Westchester Wedding Planner Blog!

We are so honored when our real life smiling brides and groom grace the inspirations pages of wedding blogs! Its not only speaks volumes of the great taste our couples have when it comes to florals and color palettes, but a true testament to how special and unique their wedding day was!

When we saw Kim and Jake's Wright House wedding pop up as a main feature on the amazing Westchester Wedding Planner blog, we were so excited, and yet not at all surprised! This couple blew us away with how perfect their fall wedding was! Each detail clearly thought out from bridal party bouquets, to reception party favors! It was so obvious this couple put so much love and care into making their wedding an event to remember. The best part; the family and friends were some of the nicest people as well! Sometimes as vendors we get a little overlooked, or just thought of as the help. Which is totally fine, but at Kim and Jake's wedding, we had family members making sure we were served dinner, hugs from bridal party and Kim's dad even personally came up and thanked us for our work at the end of the evening! Small gestures like that go a long way and just makes us all the more appreciative to have been a part of capturing one of the best day of couple's lives!

So here is to you Kim and Jake, for creating not only a memorable day for you two, but for every person involved! We love you guys!

Behind the Scenes look from a Bride's Perspective:

We are so honored to be shooting  Chris and Elizabeth's wedding next Fall  2016! She works for the adorable team over at Your Event Florist, and can I just say we are stoked to see her florals at her wedding?! If you haven't checked them you you need to, their work is incredible and we have loved working with them at past weddings!

As someone that works in the wedding industry and is also getting married, Elizabeth is doing a blog series on a behind the scenes look at finding her wedding vendors as a bride! How cool is that!? We were stoked when she said she wanted to talk about her process finding us! Reading her blog post brought tears to our eyes as she talked about the connection and feeling so comfortable from the first time we talked! That's when you know its a great fit!
We truly wish every bride feels that instant connection with their wedding photographer, whether it is with us or someone else! You and your hubby will spend a lot of time with your photographer on one of the most important days of your life, and you want someone that makes you feel comfortable and brings out those natural smiles organically!

(some excerpts from her blog entry you can read it here!)

"For as long as I can remember, I’ve been extremely picky about photos of myself. There was a short time in college when I felt like I needed to document and post every moment of my life but since then I’ve gone back to my old ways. So, when trying to figure out our wedding photographer, I knew it wouldn’t be easy. I decided to start by browsing through some blogs and past YEF weddings...I immediately emailed Jenn Wagner, explaining my love for her work and how much I would like to have her be a part of our day! Jenn, from the start, was so warm and informative. The first time we talked on the phone I felt like it was an old friend. Sometimes it can be uncomfortable explaining details of your wedding and relationship with someone you’ve never met, but it came super easy with her!"- Elizabeth ( JW Studio bride)

"Jenn emphasized capturing moments, not posing or forced situations. She told us the story of a recent wedding and an image she took of the Bride seeing her grandfather for the first time that day, the Bride didn’t know if he was going to make it. Jenn captured the moment without the Bride knowing and shared it with her after the wedding. You could tell she genuinely cared about each wedding! I had already decided on the phone she was our photographer but meeting her in person solidified my decision. After the meeting, Chris said, “She needs to be our photographer” before I could even start talking!

Thanks Elizabeth! We are so honored to be there to capture one of the most important parts of your love story as you become Chris' wife !
I hope some of the behind the scenes looks at the process is insightful for brides just starting the search for their perfect photographer! It should be a fun, comfortable process, and when you find the right match, you will know it!

Mormon Temple, Gilbert Arizona, Lex and Stephanie Wedding Day

It was a perfect November day as Lex and Stephanie stepped out of the temple to a roaring crowd of cheering friends and family after being sealed in the Temple! It is always my favorite part, seeing their reflections through the glass as the couple tries to get a sneak peak before emerging from the beautiful doors and into an entourage of clapping people! The couple is immediately bombarded with congrats, big hugs and excited moms as they are seen for the first time as Mr. and Mrs.!

There is so much anticipation from everyone waiting to see them, trying to figure out when they will emerge it really leads to the best grand entrance ever! From there Lex and Stephanie enjoyed some time on the around the perfectly green grounds as new hubby and wife, taking photos with family, laughing with friends and just enjoying life as a newlyweds.

You two! I am so happy for you guys! It is clear how much love and support you guys have as you begin this amazing journey as husband and wife! I wish you all the best in your marriage and am so honored we could be there to capture your first day as man and wife!
All my best,
Jenn and the Studio Girls

"I love how Stephanie always seeks to make things happy for everyone. She is always ready with a cute smile, happy comment, or a witty response. She claims she does not try to be the center of attention, but if you are around her you would not want it any other way. She's a beautiful and wonderful person." - Lex

"I think just getting to share all the little things together. Like having a home together, cooking dinner together and waking up together." - Stephanie
The beautiful vendors for this day!

Jeweler: Gold and Carats

Makeup and Hair: Courtney Bourque
"Lex designed my ring as a sort of mix of all the things I said I liked. I really wanted a blue stone and he included pretty little diamonds on the side that I love. When he told the jeweler his design, they asked what he was studying. When he said engineering, she said- oh yes, I thought so. Haha. Lex's ring was made in Finland by Torkkeli Jewellery. We found the jeweler through Etsy and he did an amazing job and it got to us just in time. We really love how both rings turned out and how they look together." -Stephanie

"I really loved being at the dinner with everyone and hearing all the toasts and presentations and everything there. I loved the tea ceremony, songs, and hearing from our family members." - Stephanie
"The tea ceremony is the ceremony done in Asian culture that is a handoff from two families to one new family. It shows the support of the parents to the children who are being wed, and also the respect of the children to the parents who have taught them values."- Lex
Lex and Stephanie thank you for allowing us the honor of capturing your love story as it unfolded on your beautiful wedding day! We are so happy for you guys !
