Downtown Engagement Photos | Phoenix, AZ Photographer | Jon and Cherie

Jon and Cherie

"I said “I love you” because I did, and she said it back, and we have said it ever since.  I say “I love you” to her more times than I can count in a normal day and I mean it more every single time. “ Jon
Some couples just have a special chemistry that works even when they are in front of the camera, this makes my job the very best in the entire world because there is no holding back and I can just capture two people's love for each other with any self consciousness or reservation. This is exactly the case with Jon and Cherie. Their love for each other is palpable and when they around they only become even better versions of themselves! I absolutely LOVED this session we did to celebrate their engagement to be wed! We took photos down in the
heart of Phoenix,  a place they are both fond of and frequent often so it was the perfect place for them! Jon and Cherie thank you for being open and letting me capture your love! I am so happy for you two as you continue this journey in life together, soon as man and wife!

“I can’t pinpoint an exact moment when I fell in love with Jon. It was the small things over time, the way he made me laugh, or the way he challenged me. Itw as how much I learned from him, how much fun we had together and how we played like kids (the time we chased each other around the house with water guns, or the time we played volleyball in the living room using a jump rope and a balloon.) We’re fiercely competitive with each other and we never let the other one win. Thinking more about that now, that’s another one of the reasons that I love him; he treats me as his equal and I wouldn’t want it any other way. “ – Cherie

"Answering my favorite thing about Cherie is an impossible question!  I can answer this in fifty different ways and mean each of them completely, but I have to narrow it down to one.  There’s a big part of me that wants to mention her crazy observational skills that continue to fascinate me to this day, or her humor, or how smart she is, and those are all part of the reason I’m so in love with her.  One thing she does that I absolutely adore about her is that she will cry at nearly ANYTHING.  I mean anything - the best example was a Fancy Feast commercial where this guy buys this incredibly cute kitten and proposes to his wife with it.  I always think it’s so cute when it happens and she gets irritated, but it’s a sign of how truly sensitive and empathetic she is and I love it about her.  She’s the strongest person I know, but she can also be the most open-minded and understanding at the same time.  It’s something about her that I have always admired. " - Jon

“Our first kiss happened on our first date. He had invited me to his new house and cooked spaghetti ( I later discovered it is one of three actual meals he can cook). After dinner we sat down on his stairs to talk (because he pretty much had no furniture_, and that’s when he leaned in and kissed me! I was really surprised. Jon did not strike me as the forward type; at work he seems really reserved and even a little timid; for him to be that bold was completely unexpected , but in a very nice way I actually remember thinking “Dang, this dude has some game!” - Cherie

p.s....He's a really good kisser.
“If you can believe it, neither of us can quite place exactly when we started saying “I love you”.  When we started dating, we hit it off extremely well and spent as much time as possible with each other.  When we weren’t together, we wanted to be…we both talk about it now and remember that excited feeling when you’d get a text, hoping it was her, and wanting to make plans but really wanting her to want to make plans because it was amazing that she was as interested as I was.  I love that time because it was when I first really started to understand how intelligent and complex she is, as well as being gorgeous and the funniest person that I know.  Our relationship matured, though, and instead of wanting to make plans we were just together, and it was better.  There was a day when I truly realized how happy I was with her, and how much I had made her a part of myself and my life, and how she had done the same for me.  I said “I love you” because I did, and she said it back, and we have said it ever since.  I say “I love you” to her more times than I can count in a normal day and I mean it more every single time. “ Jon

We had a little bit of a downpour during their session, but that didn't stop Cherie from sporting her sweet Christian Louboutin heels around the city! In fact, the rain added such a sweet mood to the shoot and I'm so glad these two were great sports and saw the whole shoot through and even brought an umbrella!

Cherie and Jon your love is tangible and it was such a joy to capture it! I am so excited for you to two live your lives as husband and wife! All my best, Jenn

Gilbert Mormon Temple Wedding | Gilbert, AZ | Alex and Eli Wedding Day

It was a bright sunny day in Gilbert Arizona when Alex and Eli arrived at the Gilbert Temple in Arizona to become man and wife. All the colors around us seemed to really pop and we had such a great time as we walked around the gorgeous property before their sealing in the temple. Eli was all smiles and Alex could not keep his off his glowing bride!

I love this one of them! SO happy all day together!

Can you even tell its summer and that it was warm outside? Not at all! They both just enjoyed the process and spending time together! Everything went so perfect!

I absolutely loved their matching rose gold wedding rings! How cool does that look together! The perfect pair! I am all about matching so I think this couple goes down as having the coolest wedding rings! Love them Eli and Alex!

Rocking her hot pink heels with style!

This is one of my favorites of the day, even though there was  a lot of traffic coming in and out of the temple, when we went out to get a wide shot of them in front everything just kind of cleared up and then had the whole space to themselves! By this point they were totally comfortable in front of the camera and just like before, so natural together. Again, love love love their rings!

Perfectly coordinated and I love the flowers!

Coming out as man and wife to greet everyone for the first time after their ceremony!
Thank you so much Eli and Alex for letting us be a part of capturing your beautiful wedding day! We could not have been more excited for you guys as you became one! Here's to a life full of love, family and many kids! : ) Best to you guys!

12 West Main Wedding Photos | Mesa, AZ Photographer | Kevin and Claire

Claire and Kevin

Claire and Kevin are the type of people that everyone wants to be friends with.
You know the type. Confident, friendly, good sense of humor, strong family ties and a thirst for a good time.  They are good people, and so they naturally surround themselves with other great people.

The Wedding Ceremony - Mesa Arts Center

And so, on March 13th, the friends and family of these two gathered and celebrated this amazing couple at the Mesa Arts Center as they become one before Christ. The day could not have gone more perfectly. From the laid back mood as the guys got ready that morning in the basement, to the ladies laughing all through photos together, to the sweet walk down the aisle as Kevin tried to keep it together. This wedding was full of amazing moments and hilarity along the way.

The Wedding Reception - 12 West Main

The party afterwards at 12 West Main needs no explanation as the photos tell all, but I can honestly say I laughed so much during the speeches - like hilarious! It was such an amazing wedding and being there to capture the love these two have for each other was a dream. Their attraction is tangible and their joy contagious.

Best to you Claire and Kevin as you continue life as man and wife!

Much love,
Jenn Wagner and the team!

"I think my favorite time of the day was getting ready and the prayer before the wedding.  This time was so fun and special because I had spent so much time and energy planning that I forgot to remember what was actually happening!! The morning of leading up to the ceremony, I was able to just spend time getting so excited to marry my best friend.  The anticipation and excitement built throughout the day as I just celebrated with the people around me and anxiously awaited the actual event!!  " - Claire
12 West Main Wedding Bridal Party Getting Ready

"I remember feeling pretty emotional a few times throughout the day.  The first was when Kevin and I prayed together.  That was such a meaningful time for us to pause and have a moment with Christ.  Also, when I was waiting in one of the rooms by myself while the grandparents, mom and wedding party walked down the aisle.  It was the first time all day that I had been alone and I felt so overwhelmed by everything (in a good way!)  I had a moment between myself and God to prepare for what was about to happen which was neat. The  parent dances and speeches were really emotional as well of course, especially with my dad!" - Claire

" I was glad the ceremony space was mostly shaded by the time the wedding started, we were worried about that. Everything else I expected, except for how much I reacted to when I first saw Claire come around the corner. Inside, I lost it. Outside, I was grinning ear to ear. She’s beautiful!" - Kevin

"We also both loved the time spent taking pictures because it was the first time that we were alone and getting to enjoy just the excitement of becoming husband and wife!!! " - Claire

"The time we had walking around getting our post-wedding pictures taken was amazing because everything was fresh in our minds regarding the ceremony, and we were able to sneak in some small talk which was special. After everyone stole her away from me all week and she was busy planning everything, I was glad to sneak off to Mexico with her for 5 days with PHONES OFF!!! :) :) :)" - Kevin

"We laugh a lot about some  of the dancing that went  on at the wedding! We  have hilarious flashbacks of specific people or songs that were so fun! We also had a funny moment realizing that we were heading to the wrong hotel once we left the reception. Luckily we figured it out  before we got there, but that was just a funny wrench in the day. We also laugh about the random star wars characters that showed up! It was such a strange but funny memory for both of us the next day to suddenly remember that!" - Claire

"Another would be the star wars characters showing up and dancing, that was hilarious! Another thing often mentioned is how many things went wrong/unplanned like the DJ not playing any of the songs we requested, or the violinist playing all the wrong music during the processional (our photographers were great though) and yet even with those things, everyone had a blast and hardly noticed. It was a great party and everyone did their part in making it so special. We’re so grateful!" Kevin
